Questions about fire and flood insurance claims

What should I do first to protect my insurance claim?
First, call the fire department and wait for authorization to enter. Then take photos and videos of all damage before moving or cleaning anything. Notify your insurer within 24 to 48 hours. Contact us — we coordinate everything.
Does insurance cover the full cost of restoration?
In most cases yes, including smoke cleanup, soot removal, debris removal, materials, and reconstruction labor. Coverage limits depend on your specific policy. We review your policy with you in the free inspection.
What documents do I need to file a fire claim?
You need: police or fire department report, damage photographs, inventory of lost items, your insurance policy with policy numbers, receipts or valuations of valuable items, and a technical damage report. We help you compile everything.
How long does insurance have to respond to my claim?
In Puerto Rico, insurers generally have 15 days to acknowledge receipt and 30-60 days to resolve the claim. If your insurer is delaying or unjustifiably denying your claim, we can help you better document your case.
